Women Development Cell started functioning in 2008 as per directions from the University of Calicut. The main objective is to foster and support the professional and personal development of women (students as well as faculty members). The Principal, Co-ordinator and teacher-representatives from main departments, and elected student representatives are executive members of the Cell who act together and bring to fruition the action plan for each academic year. Talks by experts and interactive sessions are organized on relevant topics like legal rights of women, women empowerment, health and hygiene of women, awareness regarding institutional code of conduct, cybercrime awareness, personality development and contemporary issues like human trafficking. Skill development courses are also arranged by the Cell. Counselling on personal and professional issues is offered to students who need such help by female faculty members. International Women's Day is celebrated every year with lectures, interactions, literary competitions, poster-making competitions etc.
